Shyi-Ming Chen received the Ph.D. degree in Electrical Engineering from National Taiwan University, Taipei, Taiwan, in June 1991. He is currently a Distinguished Professor in the Department of Computer Science and Information Engineering, National Taiwan University of Science and Technology, Taipei, Taiwan. From August 2007 to July 2010, he was the Dean of the College of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science, Jinwen University of Science and Technology, New Taipei City, Taiwan. From August 2011 to July 2012, he was the Vice President of the National Taichung University of Education, Taichung, Taiwan. Professor Chen is an IEEE Fellow, an IET Fellow and an IFSA Fellow.

Professor WONG, Tien-Tsin (T. T.)

Tien-Tsin Wong is known with his pioneer works in Computational Manga, Image-based Relighting, Ambient Occlusion (Dust Accumulation Simulation), Sphere Maps, and GPGPU for Evolutionary Computing. He graduated from the Chinese University of Hong Kong in 1992 with a B.Sc. degree in Computer Science. He obtained his M.Phil. and Ph.D. degrees in Computer Science from the same university in 1994 and 1998 respectively. He was with HKUST in 1998. In August 1999, he joined the Computer Science & Engineering Department of the Chinese University of Hong Kong. He is currently a Professor. He is also the director of Digital Visual Entertainment Laboratory at CUHK Shenzhen Research Institute (CUSZRI). He received the IEEE Transactions on Multimedia Prize Paper Award 2005 and the Young Researcher Award 2004. He was also qualified for National Thousand Talents Plan (國家千人计划) and Tianjin Thousand Talents Plan (天津市千人计划). He was the Academic Committee of Microsoft Digital Cartoon and Animation Laboratory in Beijing Film Academy, visiting professor in both South China University of China and School of Computer Science and Technology at Tianjin University. He has actively involved (as Program Committee) in several international prestigious conferences, including SIGGRAPH Asia (2009, 2010, 2012, 2013, 2018), Eurographics (2007-2009, 2011), Pacific Graphics (2000-2005, 2007-2018), ACM I3D (2010-2013), ICCV 2009, and IEEE Virtual Reality 2011.

Assistant Professor Andre Rosendo

Andre Rosendo’s research interests are related to evolutionary robotics, soft manipulation and robotic locomotion. Robots are increasingly present in our lives, and they must be safe to interact with humans while also being capable of adapting to our world. Andre's research combines walking robots capable of intelligently creating themselves, with safe humans/environment interactions through soft materials. His research output was recognized by one Discovery Channel special show, two IEEE Spectrum articles (here and here), and online articles (ENG, FRA, ITA, GER, CHI, POR, RUS, etc.). He has published more than 30 scientific papers in more than 10 IEEE conferences, was a program committee for MOD 2017, a keynote speaker for ICINCO 2017, and currently holds an Erdos number of 5. He was a Guest Editor for the IEEE Robotics and Automation Magazine and a referee for Science Robotics, IEEE Transactions on Robotics, IEEE Trans. on Mechatronics, IEEE Intl. Conf. on Intelligent Robots and Systems, and IEEE Intl. Conf. on Automation and Robotics.

Prof. Yi Guan

Prof./Dr. Yi Guan received the B.Sc. degree in computer science and technology from Tianjin University, Tianjin, China, in 1992, and the Ph.D. degree from the Harbin Institute of Technology, Harbin, China, in 1999. In 1996, he was an Invited Visiting Scholar with Canotec Co., Japan. In 2000, he was a Research Associate with the Human Language Technology Center, Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, Kowloon. In 2001, he was a Research Scientist with, Hong Kong. In October 2001, he was an Associate Professor with the School of Computer Science and Technology, Harbin Institute of Technology. Since October 2006, he has been a Professor with the School of Computer Science and Technology, Harbin Institute of Technology and has become doctoral supervisor since 2007. He is the presenter of systematic similarity measurement theory and (co-)author of more than one hundred journal or proceeding papers and a book and the inventer of WI input method. He is also the owner of five Chinese patents and two American patents. His research interests include medical informatics, natural language processing, knowledge engineering.

Professor Linlin Shen

Linlin Shen received the B.Sc. degree from Shanghai Jiaotong University, China, and the Ph.D. degree from the University of Nottingham, Nottingham, England. He was a Research Fellow with University of Nottingham, working on MRI brain image processing. He is currently a Professor and the Director of the Computer Vision Institute, College of Computer Science and Software Engineering, Shenzhen University, Shenzhen, China. His research interests include Deep Learning, facial recognition, analysis/synthesis and medical image processing. Prof. Shen was listed as the Most Cited Chinese Researcher by Elsevier, he received the Most Cited Paper Award from the journal of Imange & Vision Computing. His cell classificaiton algorithm was the winners of International Contest on Pattern Recognition Techniques for Indirect Immunofluorescence Images held by ICIP 2013 and ICPR 2016.

Dengji Zhao is an Assistant Professor at ShanghaiTech University, China. He received double Ph.D. (2012) degrees in Computer Science from University of Western Sydney and University of Toulouse 1 Capitole, and received double M.Sc. (2009) degrees in Computational Logic from Technische Universität Dresden and Universidad Politécnica de Madrid. Before joining ShanghaiTech, he was a postdoc (2013-2014) working with Prof. Makoto Yokoo (the first AAAI Fellow in Asia) and a research fellow (2014-2016) working with Prof. Nick Jennings (the first Regius Professor of Computer Science, UK). Most of Zhao’s research is on artificial intelligence (especially multi-agent systems) and algorithmic game theory (especially mechanism design and its applications in the sharing economy). Professor Feng Duan

Duan Feng, male, Ph.D., Associate Professor, Department of Automation and Intelligent Science , Nankai University . From 1998 to 2002, he studied at the School of Mechanical Engineering, Tianjin University, and obtained a bachelor's degree from college. Professor Jianbing Shen

In September 2007, He got his Ph.D. from the Department of Computer Science (State Key Lab of CAD & CG), Zhejiang University. His current research interests include computer vision and machine learning. Professor Chen Gong

Chen Gong received his B.E. degree from East China University of Science and Technology (ECUST) in 2010, and dual Ph.D. degree from Shanghai Jiao Tong University (SJTU) and University of Technology Sydney (UTS) in 2016, under the supervision of Prof. Jie Yang and Prof. Dacheng Tao, respectively. Currently, He is a full professor in the School of Computer Science and Engineering, Nanjing University of Science and Technology. His research interests mainly include machine learning, data mining, and learning-based vision problems. He has published more than 30 technical papers at prominent journals and conferences such as IEEE T-NNLS, IEEE T-IP, IEEE T-CYB, IEEE T-CSVT, IEEE T-MM, CVPR, AAAI, IJCAI, ICDM, etc. He received the “National Scholarship” awarded by the Ministry of Education in 2013 and 2014, the “Excellent Self-financed Overseas Student Scholarship” awarded by China Scholarship Council in 2015, and the “IBM Excellent Student Scholarship” in 2015. Professor Zongbo Hao

Zongbo Hao is an associate professor of the University of Electronic Science and Technology of China (UESTC). He studied in Harbin Institute of Technology from 1996 to 2007 and received the doctor’s degree in 2007. He worked as an academic visitor in Queen Mary, University of London from January 2013 to January 2014. His main research fields are deep learning and its application in computer vision, such as video surveillance. His research results have been published in the top conferences such as ACM Multimedia and BMVC. He proposed the Subdivision-Fusion model, which achieved the state-of-the-art result on the action recognition dataset of Hollywood2. The method achieved an accuracy of 79.4%, outperforming the state-of-the-art of 64.3%. He also proposed the multi-task learning method which can achieve action detection without annotating the training videos. The method can not only improve the recogniton accuracy, but also save the annotation cost. Combined with face recogniton in surveillance systems, the technology can detect the anomaly and the suspectors’ ID simutaneously.
